Lessons

Saddlebrook has quality instructors and horses that can teach you not only "how" to do specific things when riding, but also explain "why!"

Most of Saddlebrook's Certified Riding instructors have graduated from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture, majoring in Equine Science.  Our instructors offer a wide range of experience from Hunt Seat, Western, Dressage, Carriage Driving, Vaulting and Side Saddle backgrounds.  Throughout their careers, our Instructors have competed successfully in horse shows Locally, Regionally and in National Competitions.

All of Saddlebrook's Instructors are certified in First Aid and CPR, and one is also a Pennsylvania State Certified Emergency Medical Technician.

Our instructors are known throughout the area as "having a kind voice" and "being understanding" to riders who need encouragement while learning to ride.  We work at each individual rider's own pace.

Our instructors start students out with a solid background in horsemanship with the opportunity to become a "rider" and not a "passenger" on a horse or pony.

Students should wear long pants and boots with a heel. We encourage students to NOT wear sneakers, as your foot can slip through the stirrup and get caught.  We provide ASTM / SEI approved horseback riding helmets.  Any other type of helmet (bicycle for example) is NOT permitted while on horseback.  For some examples of proper clothing for horseback riding, please see our Saddles to Spurs web page!

Lessons are offered 7 days a week.  Monday thru Friday 1pm-9pm (Summer hours 2pm-9pm) ; Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm.

We offer private 1/2 hour, private hour, semi-private and group lessons.
